Shocked! So this is how the thrilling scenes of Hollywood blockbusters are filmed?
You may have seen many Hollywood movies, but do you remember those spine-chilling thrillers?
I remember when I was young, our home TV could only receive a few channels, and every time the neighbors played DVDs, it was always lively, especially when they played scary horror movies, it was packed with people. I am quite timid and have never dared to watch horror movies since I was a child, always feeling that I wouldn't dare to be home alone for several days after watching, walking around suspiciously and not sleeping well. It was only after I came into contact with Jerry silicone that I realized how the thrilling scenes of Hollywood blockbusters are filmed!
First of all, there is usually a props team in the film crew, and their job is to prepare the props needed by the actors in advance according to the scenes. So, in shooting thrillers, silicone is an essential prop.
For example, the common scenes of severed hands and feet are made using liquid silicone prosthetic props.
With a snap, the scalp is suddenly cut! It turns out that a special effects headpiece made of silicone is used.
When filming throat-cutting scenes, makeup artists will first apply a thin layer of silicone fake skin on the actor's neck, with many tubes containing artificial plasma inside. When the director shouts "Action," the actor cuts open the silicone fake skin on their neck, and the staff hiding behind quickly squeezes out the plasma through the tubes.
Silicone is soft, environmentally friendly, non-toxic, and has a very high degree of realism, allowing for many different silicone props to be made according to the required effects of the scene. For example, the silicone used to simulate "scratches" needs to be much thinner, almost the same thickness as skin, and the makeup artist has to showcase their skills on this thin layer of silicone, which is quite challenging.
When filming ghost movies, the appearance requirements for the "female ghost" are often very high, needing to be plump, thin, with big eyes, etc. Therefore, silicone dolls are also commonly used props; apart from lacking the rich expressions of a human, they look almost indistinguishable from real people, and special effects can be pre-painted by the makeup artist.
Secondly, to achieve a terrifying effect, sound engineers try to match the most hair-raising music. Some thrillers not only create curiosity and fear through the scenes but also because the music composed by the sound engineers makes the entire scene more realistic, instantly increasing the tension.
Finally, Hollywood blockbusters certainly cannot do without computer special effects processing.
